How To: Make Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Make Chocolate Covered Pretzels

In the mood for a treat but can't decide between salty or sweet? Why choose when you can have the best of both worlds? Chocolate covered pretzels are a mouth-watering snack perfect for satisfying even the most wicked cravings. They are a huge hit at parties and get-togethers, and your guests will be impressed you made them yourself (not to mention that store-bought versions can cost a pretty penny!)

These decadent delights are surprisingly easy to make and make a sweet gift idea. Try wrapping them up in some cellophane tied with ribbon for a birthday, Valentine's or hostess gift. Or put them in a gift box or bag with coloured tissue paper.

You'll Need:

  1. 1 300g bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  2. 1 bag of tiny pretzel twists
  3. Wax paper
  4. Cookie sheet
  5. Tongs

Coat a large cookie sheet with wax paper. Place chocolate chips in a microwavable bowl and melt on medium for about 4 minutes. Stir until smooth. Dip pretzels in chocolate using tongs. This can be the messy part but also the most fun! As you dip each pretzel into the chocolate be sure to coat entirely, and as you bring it up, gently shake off any excess to prevent drips.

Place each coated pretzel on cookie sheet, making sure to space them apart so they don't stick together. You can add an extra-pretty touch by drizzling some melted white chocolate over the pretzels. Refrigerate until chocolate is firm, about 30 minutes. Remove pretzels carefully and place in a sealed container and store in the fridge or a cool, dry place. You can also freeze them in an airtight container. Happy Munching!!!
